Personal Preferences and Observations of Hotels in Las Vegas: A Locals Insight
Personal Preferences and Observations of Hotels in Las Vegas: A Local's Insight
As a local in Las Vegas, my preferences for hotels on the Strip often stem from my personal experiences and needs, shaped by both the attractions of the area and reliability of services. Over the years, several hotels have stood out for their unique features, amenities, and atmosphere. Here, I will share my favorite hotels and provide insights into why they stand out.
Why I Avoid the Strip
As a local who has grown tired of the constant presence of tourists and the overwhelming nature of the casinos, I prefer to stay off the Strip when possible. Local casinos offer a more convenient and enjoyable experience without the chaos of the main tourist attraction. Historically, I've enjoyed staying within walking distance of one of the major casinos, as it provides easy access to the Strip's vibrant atmosphere without the hassle of navigating through the crowds.
My Personal Favourites
Bellagio
My favorite hotel is definitely the Bellagio. Since the day I worked there, the Bellagio has been a standout due to its excellent amenities, beautiful views, and top-notch service. The Bellagio's rooms are spacious and aesthetically pleasing, and the varied scenery and waterworks displays add to the overall experience. The hotel's excellent service and delectable food make guests feel right at home. The fountains and flower gardens are a sight to behold, making the Bellagio an unbeatable choice for those seeking luxury and class.
Paris Hotel
When it comes to staying on the Strip, the Paris Hotel is highly recommended. It is well-located and has a rich history, having hosted memorable events such as weddings and significant gambling wins. While the hotel itself may not be the most glamorous, it boasts great energy, excellent staff, and easy access to other casinos. The rooms offer great views of the Bellagio fountains, adding to the overall experience.
Off-Strip Preferences
Tuscany
For a more comfortable and spacious stay, especially when traveling on a budget, the Tuscany is an excellent choice. It offers a mini-suite that is more luxurious and spacious than the typical accommodations on the Strip. The comfortable mini-suite features separate areas for lounging, cooking, sleeping, and working, along with reliable fast Wi-Fi. The location is also convenient, as it is close to Marilyn's Café, known for its authentic family atmosphere and great meatloaf. However, it does come with some downsides, like resort fees and a casino that may not be up to par.
Best Western Plus Casino Royale
The Best Western Plus Casino Royale is another favorite for conventions. Located next to the Venetian, it offers small but clean rooms with plenty of power sockets for those in need. The hotel provides an in-room Keurig coffee machine and reliable fast Wi-Fi. Free parking for residents is an added bonus. While the casino and food outlets may be of lower quality, the proximity to other major hotels provides enough variety for visitors.
Other Notable Hotels
Bellagio continues to be a standout choice for those seeking luxury and class. It offers a fabulous list of restaurants, a museum of fine art, and the luxurious Conservatory. While the prices are higher, the experience is unparalleled. Mirage and Harrah’s Suite offer a comfortable stay with slightly better amenities than general Strip hotels, albeit at a similar price. However, the Luxor has not lived up to expectations in recent years, with detracting features such as awkward and neglected spaces and an overall feeling of disinterest from the management.
For those considering a stay near the Strip, these insights can help in making an informed decision based on individual needs and preferences. Whether you're looking for luxury, convenience, or a comfortable budget option, there is a hotel on or off the Strip that can meet your requirements. Each hotel offers its unique charm and features, making Las Vegas a truly memorable destination for all types of travelers.
