How Often Do You Lose Your AirPods?

For a long time, I struggled with losing my Apple AirPods all the time. I could never remember where I put them. My Experience with AirPods

I've been using my AirPods since early 2017, frequently using them multiple times a day, including at night. I have never lost them yet, which is a huge relief. However, my AirPods do fall out quite frequently, about two to three times a week. Thankfully, once they fall out, the music stops playing immediately, making it easy to notice and locate them.

Their bright white color and their tendency to stay put or roll minimally help in finding them quickly. My AirPods are also quite resilient; I've dropped them on hard stone surfaces a few times, and they've survived without damage. Preventing Loss with Good Habits

Never losing my AirPods can partly be attributed to my habit of keeping them in their charging case when not in use. When not in my ears, they’re always in my pocket or bag. The key to not losing something, when it’s not in use, is always to keep it in the same place and avoid laziness in putting it away.

Using the Find My iPhone App for Tracing Your AirPods

Since I haven’t lost my AirPods, I haven’t had to use the Find My iPhone app. However, this app is incredibly useful if you do misplace your AirPods. You can easily trace their last known location and have them emit a sound if you believe you've lost them. Additionally, the charging case is small but noticeable in your pocket, similar to a car key fob, making it easy to spot.

Preferring Other Earbuds Over Apple’s Earpods

I personally enjoy using Apple products, but I don't like the sound quality of Apple’s Earpods. As a result, I use Sennheiser earbuds and Audio Technica headphones, both of which offer superior sound quality. Additionally, I’ve never lost either of these earbuds either, suggesting that sometimes third-party products are reliable alternatives.
