Experiencing the Natalie Beach Cantus's Beach Life Journey

The sound of crashing waves and the salty sea air are constants that draw many people to the beach. Throughout my life, I've had the privilege of experiencing the beauty and serenity of numerous beaches, from the lush and diverse Oregon Coast to the warm and vibrant shores of the Philippines.

My Childhood at the Oregon Coast

I grew up in a small coastal town on the Oregon Coast, a place my family called home from 1962 to 1978. Our little town boasted a population of just 70 people during the colder winter months, which swelled to around 5,000 during the peak of the summer season. Our proximity to the beach provided boundless joy and adventure.

We would travel a mere 10 miles north to reach the school where I spent my primary years. The local high school had under 250 students, and my senior class consisted of just 54 students. Despite the small size of our school, it had a profound impact on my social and academic development.

The best childhood I could have ever asked for unfolded right in front of me on the Oregon Coast. The beach offered endless opportunities for playing, exploring, and bonding with nature. From gathering shells to building sandcastles, the joy of childhood was inseparable from the coastal lifestyle.

Traveling to Explore More Beaches

But my love for the beach didn't end with those Oregon summers. Since then, I've traveled to numerous other places to explore more beaches. Some of my favorites include:

Pacific Ocean Beaches in the U.S.

Near the northern coast, the Pacific Ocean beaches inWashington and Oregon are popular destinations. The Rosario Strait, for instance, is known for its dramatic rocky shores and seagulls. Further south, the beaches in California and Washington offer diverse landscapes, from the rocky shores of Washington to the golden sands of California.

Beaches in Oregon and Washington

The Oregon coast stretches from Astoria in the north to Coos Bay in the south. Some of the most well-known spots include NeahBay and Kitty Hawk, while Charleston, South Carolina and Hatteras offer a mix of scenic landscapes and bustling beach towns.

Along the Pacific Coast

To the south, the Pacific coast of the U.S. features beautiful places like Long Beach, San Diego, and Santa Monica. Places like Cape Henlopen and St. Petersburg are also worth visiting for their unique coastal charm.

Exploring Beyond the U.S.

My interest in beaches extends beyond the U.S. borders. The Philippines, with its clear waters and white sandy beaches, offers a unique tropical experience. Currimao Beach, in particular, is a hidden gem with its picturesque coastline and gentle waves. Additionally, there are numerous other beautiful beaches in the Philippine archipelago that are waiting to be explored.

Personal Preferences and Experiences

My favorite beach experience involves the long swims and the joy of nudity. When the opportunity arises, a nude beach is a delightful way to reconnect with nature and embrace the liberating simplicity of the sea.

So whether it's the serene beauty of the Oregon Coast or the vibrant shores of the Philippines, the power of the beach continues to hold a special place in my heart. Whenever I have the chance, I return to the beach to reignite my connection with the natural world and the sheer pleasure of the simple act of being by the sea.
