Embarking on a New Journey: My Experience with TCS Trivandrum ILP in June
June 7, 2018
The journey to TCS Trivandrum’s Internship Leadership Program (ILP) has been an exciting one, marked by a blend of anticipation and nervousness. As I write these words, it is officially my first day away from home, and let me tell you, it is going spectacularly!
TCS, being a behemoth in the tech industry, has a well-defined routine that is both challenging and, at times, challenging to adapt to. No cooking for the first few weeks is an absolute shocker, and handing over the house keys to someone else is something I never expected to experience. Despite these initial ‘hiccups’, I now understand how crucial these practices are from a corporate standpoint. They ensure professionalism and adherence to certain norms that are a part of larger organizational functions.
Conquering the Initial Hurdles
Upon arriving in Trivandrum, one of the first things I had to tackle was the Induction and Resettlement Allowance (IRA). It was a smooth process, and I am grateful for it. TCS’s attention to detail during this time was nothing short of impressive. The paperwork was handled efficiently, and everything was made clear from the start, easing my concerns about the transition.
);"> Love for the Canteen Coffee
I must confess, one of the highlights of this program has been the canteen coffee. Seriously, seriously, I felt like Scarlett in one of the Scarlett Circle scenes! The coffee is a revelation, and I find myself seeking out that perfect blend more often than I should. It’s not just about the caffeine; it’s the bonding moments with colleagues that make it even more special. Seriously impressed with Paul and the team at the canteen. If you get a chance, try their signature brew; it's an experience worth cherishing.
But back to the main event – let me tell you, TCS Trivandrum ILP is unlike any other internship I’ve ever had. The program is designed to not only provide technical knowledge but also to nurture your leadership skills. It’s a perfect mix of hands-on experience and theoretical learning, all wrapped up in one seamless package.
Networking and Connecting
This internship is all about making connections and forming lasting bonds with colleagues. It’s amazing how quickly the time flies by when you’re having such incredible experiences. There's a chance we might bump into each other during our break, and then there's that moment when you realize you have a common interest beyond just work.
If you ever have any plans or even just a casual meeting, I would love to catch up. There’s so much to learn from each other, and I believe we can all help each other grow.
Stay Connected and Good Luck!
Lastly, a note to all the interns coming our way. Whether you’re joining in June or a bit later, I wish you the very best. The journey might be bumpy at times, but the moments of joy and learning will far outweigh the challenges. And remember, every journey is a new adventure! Stay connected and remember, we’re all in this together.
Best of luck to everyone starting this incredible journey with TCS Trivandrum ILP!
Scarlett Circle cheers,
