A Comprehensive Review of Flight Booking Experience

For a few months, I have utilized for my travel needs. One of the positive aspects of their service is the search page, which offers numerous filters and the ability to search for specific flight combinations. However, as I encountered, the process sometimes requires extensive scrolling or even extra clicks to narrow down the results. By clicking an icon, one can limit the results to include a desired segment, which saves time and allows for more targeted flights.

Usability on Various Devices

While my primary method of booking using is through a computer, I found their mobile app to be quite useful when traveling. The app allows for seamless check-in for multiple airlines, something that was particularly beneficial for my European itineraries involving several carriers, including Ryanair. This feature substantially saves time and hassle as multiple check-ins were not required through separate websites.

Post-Booking Communication and Customer Support

offers a range of post-booking communications, such as emails and notifications, which I found to be helpful. These reminders and confirmations eliminated the need for me to track the status of my bookings. However, customer support interactions were limited to a couple of instances, and the response times while satisfactory were expectedly prompt. The responses provided were textbook and well-delivered, but sometimes the information was not as actionable or supportive as I had hoped.

Upselling and Fees

The purchasing process on can be overwhelming due to numerous upselling opportunities and additional fees. A single booking can accumulate multiple fees, seemingly driven to price out potential customers even as they offer competitive prices initially. The baggage fees, in particular, were a source of confusion. For a trip to Malta, the checked baggage fee added an exorbitant amount to the ticket price, while personal items and cabin luggage were much less. This inconsistency in pricing was perplexing, and subsequent bookings with or the same airlines did not repeat these high fees.

Price Lock Feature and Consequences

The introduction of the 'price lock' feature was intended to provide assurance in pricing, but it turned out to be more convoluted than helpful. The fees associated with 'locking' a price were significant, and they often ended up being higher than the savings from the original price. For two of my itineraries, the price lock did lock in the price, but I paid an additional 110 due to the service fee. When I inquired about a website mishap that contributed to the pricing problem, the customer service provided polite and timely responses but they were somewhat generic, lacking the specific information I needed to confirm the issue.

Final Verdict

Despite some successful experiences and useful features, faces challenges in transparency and pricing consistency, which led me to opt for another booking website. The baggage fees were a significant mystery, and the price lock feature felt like a trick, ultimately costing me more. While might be a good option for some users, my personal experience suggests that there are better alternatives available in the market for flight bookings.
