Assigning Client Defaults Through DBC.HostsInfo View

A system table is used to assign a default character set to each client connection. Each row in the system table defines a default character set for one client.

If no character sets are defined, the client default will be assumed; that is, EBCDIC for IBM mainframe clients, and ASCII for all others.

You should access the system table be accessed through its user view, DBC.HostsInfo. The name and use of each column in the view are as follows:

LogicalHostId SMALLINT NOT NULL

Identifies the client connection (mainframe channel or LAN) for which a default character set is being defined.
