smaller the Rm values observed (77). The chromatographic migrations of 17 substituted j-triazine derivatives were investigated by adsorption and reversed-phase TLC, when fi-cyclodextrine polymer was introduced into the mobile phase (78) (Table 5).
Triazines and their hydroxy analogs were separated by adsorption TLC in benzene-methanol (3:1) and by reversed-phase TLC on silica gel 60 F254 plates impregnated with 5% paraffin oil in ’-hexane, which was developed with methanol: 1 N NaCl (1:1). Reversed-phase TLC proved to be most suitable of the 15 systems tested (79).
Reversed phase HPTLC was used for the separation and detection of atrazine and its major metabolites for the analysis of their residues in two surface and five subsoils. Recoveries were between 87-97%, and the limit of detection 20 ng/spot. The values are summarized in Table 5 (79a).
